Ongoing partnerships in a global mission.
The Center for Mission is charged with promoting and coordinating the global mission outreach of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and
Minneapolis.
Short-term Immersion
Every summer our office sponsors a short-term immersion trip for those in parish leadership roles. The trip is intended to help leaders
to be more existentially aware of global realities of faithful people living in poverty and vulnerabilities. Each trip offers time to reflect on what that
might mean in terms of our faithful
response in our own personal and parish setting.
Trip to El Salvador
Inspire your student's global perspective by joining us on the trip we are currently planning to El Salvador for June 14-23, 2010. To quote Margie Kehn, Faith Formation Director from Chaska who was a participant on our trip to El Salvador in 2005, "I don't think a day goes by without me thinking or talking about my experience there." It promises to be an opportunity of discovery about another culture, as well as, yourself.

Youth Mission
Each summer our office organizes an exciting, faith-deepening Youth Mission experience in a Catholic context. Youth from a variety of parishes of the archdiocese travel to the Red Lake Nation in northern Minnesota where they engage with the Anishinaabe children, youth and elders. They learn from the Red Lake elders about their history, spirituality and culture. Through the connection with St. Mary’s Mission (the only Catholic Mission on a reservation in Minnesota), the youth celebrate the Sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation in a mission context. This trip is organized in conjunction with the nationally-recognized YouthWorks organization.
In 2010, the Youth Mission Trip will be July 25-30. It is currently full. If you're interested in the July 2011 trip or for more information, contact Mike
Haasl at haaslm@archspm.org or call 651-291-4504.
