Monthly Mission Intentions Every month, the Center for Mission issues a Mission Intentions for use in classrooms and Faith Formation classes. These intentions reflect the Holy Father's mission themes for the month. The Mission Intentions initiates children into their missionary identity. It connects children to the universal Church and others throughout the world. It defines what it means to be a missionary through baptism. The monthly Mission Intentions is an approach to mission education that can integrate with a teacher's classroom rhythm and satisfy existing religious standards. Mission Intentions education also takes the next step; how do students live out their missionary identity? This is animated through the Holy Bucket program. For the most recent Mission Intention: NEW! Mission Intention and Holy Bucket Blog We have heard some remarkable ways the monthly Mission Intentions and Holy Buckets have been used in classrooms and would like to hear about your most innovative and creative projects regarding these mission tools. Please share your ideas with us and other teachers. |
Holy Buckets As an element of the Mission Intentions program, the new Holy Buckets introduce opportunities for mission animation: how to bring the values learned through monthly Mission Intentions into their day-to-day life. Every month as part of the monthly Mission Intentions, students will be given concrete suggestions regarding activities involving time, talent or treasure related to that month's themes. Students can write their commitments on Mission Memos and drop them in the bucket. Mission education becomes real to students.
If you would like to order a Holy Bucket for your class, contact Eric Simon at simone@archspm.org. Mission Memos can be downloaded for use. |
